The baffle slows the flow of oil from the outer pinion bearing ensuring it is properly lubricated. The slinger keeps oil moving. These genuine Spicer components are manufactured to high OE standards because they are OE, which means when you replace with Spicer pinion oil slingers and baffles you know you will have the proper fit and function.
