Description
3/8-5/8 tracks with wide corners or slick surface. 355+ c.i., 12:1, 4 BBL gas or alcohol with good intake and heads. Premium-quality valve springs, lifters, pushrods recommended. The OWM T/C Series offers a Cam for just about every open wheel modified racer. With the newest lobe designs, a nice broad torque curve with great power and reduced tire spin, what open wheel modified racer wouldn't want to try out this legal traction control? For flat tappet engine combinations that are limited on Rocker ratio due to rules, these Camshafts offer a new level of performance and on-track consistency. With innovative lobe designs that deliver increased airflow and combustion efficiency, the COMP Cams engineers incorporated the latest in flat tappet Cam Technology to develop Camshafts that are the new standard for performance and durability in IMCA sanctioned Competition. Due to the aggressive nature of these Camshafts, we recommend premium-quality valve springs such as the Race Series #26094, race-quality lifters #800-16, ideally with EDM Cam face oiling provisions, heavy-duty Stud mount Rockers and 3/8 or larger diameter pushrods.
Product Overview
Fits Chevrolet GEN 1 Small Blocks including the 262, 265, 267, 283, 302, 305, 307, 327, 350 and 400. Does not fit LT1/LT4, or factory roller Small Blocks built from 1985 and newer. GM gradually added roller camshafts to 305's and 350's from the mid 80's forward. Camaros/Firebirds/Corvettes received the roller cams early, but many trucks and SUV's had flat tappet cams until the mid 90's. Remove the intake or timing cover to confirm whether the block is a factory roller or flat tappet. Does not fit the LS1, LS2, LS3 or any LS-based 4.8, 5.3, 5.7, 6.0 and 6.2. 1955-1957 Chevrolet 265 engines require a groove on the 5th cam journal for oiling. Contact us for more information.
