Using their patented and proven crushed volcanic rock fiber, the Lava Shields create an ideal thermal barrier, guarding against heat sources like headers. And they do not conduct electricity, so there are no worries of a short happening between exposed starter terminals and the wrap. They easily install with the hook-and-loop fasteners. High heat is damaging, and your starter and solenoid are mounted in the hottest area of your vehicle's engine bay.
