Heatshield Products Cold-Gold heat shields provide more than just shiny allure. Cold-Gold shields deflect heat without adding dead weight, no matter how tight the space, all the while looking like a million bucks. The adhesive-backed material features TruGold thermal-barrier technology that won't degrade after long-term heat exposure—and is capable of reflecting up to 90 percent of radiant heat. The real gold color combined with specially formulated, full high-grade fiberglass cloth backing can take constant, but not direct heat contact, ambient temperatures of up to 1,100 degrees F and intermittent ambient temperatures of 2,000 degrees F. The fiberglass backing also acts as a fire barrier—the gold coating will burn away, but the fiberglass provides extra protection and added peace of mind.
