Trans Tunnel Plate Heat Shield blocks exhaust heat from coming through the transmission tunnel keeping interior cool and comfortable. A well known and long time problem with many Corvettes is the amount of heat transferred into and through the console. DEI has the solution to dramatically reduce the amount of heat transferred to the C6 (2005-2013) Transmission Tunnel Reinforcement Plates and into the vehicle's interior. This shield reduces the negative effects of in-cabin excessive high temperatures and improve the experience of driving a Corvette. DEI Floor and Tunnel Shields II add a new dimension to heat control with minimal clearance needed--only 3/16 in.! Constructed utilizing an embossed aluminum face bonded to a composite fiberglass insulation and backed with an aggressive adhesive that holds past 450 degrees F, these barrier sheets are capable of handling direct temperatures up to 1,750 degrees F. The shields are tough enough for under-vehicle applications. They're also great as a sound barrier, blocking out up to 50 percent of unwanted road noise. DEI Floor and Tunnel Shields II can be cut with tin snips to any shape needed for your application. (Note: Some shields use spray-on adhesive.)
