Description

Flowtech 12540 long tube headers for Ford F-Series pickup trucks are designed to provide optimum exhaust flow for increased horsepower, torque, fuel economy, and improved throttle response in Ford F-150, F-250, and F-350 trucks from model years 1966-1976. Leak-tested for maximum performance, Flowtech 12540 headers feature the industry's best welds for durability and are carefully engineered for precise fit.

Flowtech headers are constructed from sturdy and lightweight cold-rolled mild steel or stainless steel for increased strength and durability. All tubing is mandrel-bent to provide consistent tubing diameter for smooth flow and increased exhaust velocity. Extra-thick, machined header flanges provide a leak-free seal and maximum strength. For long-term rust and corrosion-resistance, available finishes include natural and polished stainless steel, high heat-resistant black paint, or a satin silver metallic ceramic thermal barrier coating. All mounting hardware and premium gaskets are included.

Depending on application, features may include:

* Shorty-style headers will work with catalytic converter equipped vehicles; head pipe fabrication may be required
* Leakproof O-ringed port seals on select headers
* Available to work with factory power steering and power brakes
* Where applicable, welded-in collector merge spears control exhaust gas re-entry into primary tubes

Important notes: Breaking in an engine with ceramic coated headers WILL result in damage to the coating and will VOID all warranties. Ceramic coated headers require several heat cycles to fully cure before they will withstand extreme heat. Hooker recommends using cast iron exhaust manifolds or old headers to break in new engines to avoid coating damage. Flowtech does not recommend the use of header wraps as this will void the warranty.
